Baseball Ramblings and Log-On Rejected

First off I want to mention the fact that Albert Pujols hit two home runs last night. Not only does Pujols lead the entire MLB with 34 home runs (10 home runs ahead of anyone else in the league) but he also leads the entire MLB in runs batted in and he is in third place in the National League with a .334 batting average. A lot of experts are saying there is a chance he may get the triple crown this year

Something I also need to mention is the fact that in 91 games Pujols has hit a total of 34 home runs. Last year he hit 37 home runs in 148 games. If Pujols keeps this up and plays in 148 games this year, he is on pace to hit 55 home runs, a season record for him.

The cardinals as a whole are doing very well this year. They continue to lead the NL Central currently 3 games ahead of the Cubs, Brewers, and Astros. Tonight they play Arizona at 6:15. If you haven't noticed, I'm a Cardinals fanatic courtesy of my grandpa, AKA Bobo. For those of you who are completely lost or just don't care about baseball, sorry you had to endure my ramblings. I can go on for hours about sports.

Some of you may know that I work as a 911 dispatcher and emergency services dispatcher. I dispatch for all law enforcement, fire departments, and EMS agencies in Reno County. Part of my job is checking subjects for warrants and making sure that they have a valid driver's license among other things. Every once in a while as I'm getting ready for the day in dispatch I get a nice little message from my computer which is used to do these tasks. The message says "Log-on Rejected." My co-workers and I don't know why it does this but it happens to all of us every once in a while. I get so frustrated when this happens. How am I supposed to do my job if I can't even get into the computer? I could get frustrated because things aren't going as I had planned, or I could just work around it.

Proverbs 27:1 "Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth."

We never know what tomorrow holds for us, so we shouldn't walk around like we are in control. I learned a few years ago the hard way. I learned that we may have one plan for our life, but God has another. When our computers at work go down we don't just stop and take a nap. Life goes on and we continue to work and do the best we can. When we have one thing planned for life and it doesn't work out we can't just give up and say oh well. It means that God has another plan for us. He has a better plan. In my previous post I mentioned Jeremiah 29:11. God has no plans to harm us, only to prosper. It's not easy for me to remember this, but when I can it makes life a lot easier.

As time goes on, anyone reading this will notice that I listen to a lot of music. I use music a lot as a reference or example. A song that reminds me of God's plan for my life is called Wait and See by Brandon Heath.



Any time life gives me the "log-on rejected" message and stops my plans in their tracks, I have to remember that God has a better plan for me. I have to learn to trust Him and strive to glorify Him in everything that I do. I don't know what His plans are for me so for now I sit back, trust Him, and wait and see.
